Dear Hygiene Parents:
I want to take a moment to introduce myself to you.  It is with great eagerness and excitement that I write to you as serving as the next Hygiene Elementary Principal.  I know this is an outstanding community that has built a culture that thrives on excellence.  I look forward to continuing to build and nurture the excellent structures that already exist at Hygiene.  We will collectively reach Hygiene’s greatest potential together.

Over the course of 19 years, I have had a variety of experiences in education.  I have taught K-8 in all content areas, including special education.  For the past twelve years, I have worked for St. Vrain Valley School District.   Currently, I serve as the Response to Intervention Coordinator, Secondary Literacy Coordinator and Social Studies Facilitator at the district level.  In addition, I am a product of an Integrated Arts Focus School growing up in Europe.  As a literacy teacher at Longs Peak, I worked directly with Dr. Shelby Wolf integrating the fine arts, music, movement, storytelling, and technology into my daily lessons.  But the common thread that holds all these experiences together is how critical the elementary years are in a student’s life.  It is the elementary years where curiosity is at its peak and the foundation for learning begins.  I am reminded of this on a daily basis as a mother.

On a personal level, I am a wife and mother of two beautiful children.  My husband, Cyrus, is a special education teacher at Mead High School.  My daughter, Savannah, is six years old and my son, Keenan, is almost four.  Cyrus and I are excited that our children will be joining the Hygiene community in the fall.

It is my responsibility as the principal to ensure your child receives a quality education within a safe and respectful environment.  I know the staff shares that same focus.  Strong partnerships and communication are essential to the success of your child.  I look forward to working with you and your child and ensuring his/her formative years are positive.  We can accomplish this by building a strong relationship between home and school.

Again, I feel honored, privileged, and humbled to serve as your next principal.  I want each and every one of you to feel free to contact me at anytime.  My email address is collier_renee@svvsd.org and my office phone is 303-702-7547.

With our kids at heart,

Renee Collier
